Carma climbed up the steep sides of the mountain. She was looking for a mate, a stallion who would lead her herd with her. She nickered softly as she climbed, wanting to be apart from the other mares who were complacently chewing on the grass at the foot of the mountain.
She snorted angrily, her herd was loyal to her, true, but the looks they gave her for leading them on her own-the contempt in their eyes as they realized they had to listen to a mare. She glared at the stone under her hooves, "Silly foals!" She muttered, lightly kicking a pebble and watching it tumble down the mountainside.
Finally, she stopped climbing and looked down triumphantly at the vast expanse of land she could now see. She took a deep breath, "I have a good feeling about today." She said to herself, a smile on her face. Most the stallions she had met so far had been pompous, arrogant fools who thought to take her leadership from her.
The others had all turned away from her when they realized she was so outspoken and brave. They didn't like that she had a mind of her own. "Maybe today I'll find him." she sighed, closing her eyes sadly. She didn't want a mate, but she needed one. For the sake of her herd.

Carma turned at the sound of a whinny and snorted as she saw a stallion. Then she remembered her manners and whinnied back curiously, looking at the handsome stallion with well masked interest.

Grey, white, black. His mane flew behind him as he galloped. He was a stallion, of two years. His coat was of fleabitten grey, blended with black and white. his eyes where hazel, and his ears where perked forward. He heard two horses. A mare, and a stallion. He snorted, picking up his pace. he slowled when the sight of the mare came. The stallion paused, surounded by some trees that swayed, lush grass that he longed to graze on, btu he ignorwed it. The bushes about him where large, and the flowers on the gorund where of the purest colors. The stallion stepped forward, and walked swiftly and quietly towards the mare. The stallions body was slim, skinny, and his neck was one of a long lost familt of Akhal-Tekes. His neck in that case, was one that arched beautifully, and his legs wheer long and slender. he neared her, then paused. He bowed his head, tuck one hoves under. He stood back up. "Hello, m'lady."

Carma nickered in amusement when she saw another stallion approaching, another one? Today must be my lucky day. She smiled at the newcomer, "Hello there!" She said in a cheery voice, then she looked at the first stallion, "And hello to you, too." Her tail flicked with amusement, brushing against her painted flanks. "May I help you, boys?" she said in a mischeivous tone.

"Well, m'lady, I can heer to service you, for I heard your nicker." He said slyly, smiling at her. "I am Thorn, a newcomer to these lands. I guess then you could call me a lone, but I like to be called a.. Wonderer." He watched the mare with interest.

((Haha, okay Nicole^^' Sorry I took so long to reply!))
Carma smiled, "A wanderer, eh? I'm Carma." she stared at Thorn with large black eyes, "You're very proper, Mr. Thorn." she said in a lightly teasing tone. "What brought you to these lands? Surely you didn't see anything of interest in our humble herds." she neighed with a smile.

"/mr./? You make me feel old!" He exclaimed. "Acually, the herds are exactly what brought me here, Ms. Carma." He sighed. "I had a herd, well, I ead it, but they all died out due to the diesease the humans put out." He shrugged. "Stuff happens, right? I try to forget it all." He smiled. The thoughts of his old herd never really bugged him, for he was a young leader, and he never liked the horses in the herd. "What brings you here?"

Carma looked at Thorn with sympathy, "I'm sorry to hear that..." she murmured. Then she shook her head clear, "I'm here to find a mate." she said boldly, "A stallion that's not an idiot so he can lead by my side, acting only for the herd." she snorted, "Unfortunately, all the stallions here are dumber than foals."
She tossed her head in an annoyed fashion, "My herd doesn't respect me. They think that because I am a young mare I cannot rule wisely!" she huffed angrily and turned away, glaring into the distance. "I do not see why they act this way. I have been nothing but good to them!" She gazed at the ground sadly, "I love them, they are family, but they treat me like a tyrant they must listen to. They do not love me back..."

"All act likes foals?" He exclaimed, tossing his head. "I for one, may act stupid, but I am not a foal." He knew that Carma musint ahve meant him in praticular, but he wanted to see how the mare reacted to his quick emotions. "The herd sounds like a bunch of.. Uncaring, stupid little foals that only want play."

Camra huffed and stomped her foot, "They are!" she agreed, her anger fueled by his understanding. Then she shook her head and looked down guility, "No, they're not..." she took a deep breath, "They just don't like the idea of a mare leading the herd..." she said bitterly.
